Psalm 13 moves from cries during prolonged waiting toward trust in God's mercy. Lament and trust belong in the same psalm; grief need not be hidden before praying. An important relationship has ended, leaving me with longing, regret and exhaustion. Loss after a relationship ends is not weakness. Honest grief helps clarify needed boundaries. Begin with a small concrete response today: Write down one boundary you need now. Read the passage in its surrounding section. Notice speaker, audience, and context instead of turning Scripture into an instant formula.
