Psalm 13 moves from cries during prolonged waiting toward trust in God's mercy. Lament and trust belong in the same psalm; grief need not be hidden before praying. An important relationship has ended, leaving me with longing, regret and exhaustion. Loss after a relationship ends is not weakness. Honest grief helps clarify needed boundaries. Begin with a small concrete response today: Write down one boundary you need now. Review is not a scorecard. Notice small changes, what still needs time, and where another person's company may help. Growth can be slow.
