A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Father, Surgery is approaching; I trust the medical team and still feel afraid. Be with me here and help me bring my feelings honestly before you. Fear before surgery can coexist with trust. Prayer asks for presence while making room for preparation. Give me wisdom and courage to respond today: Confirm preoperative instructions and transportation. While the outcome is uncertain, help me fulfill my responsibilities patiently and receive support from trustworthy people. Let my words and actions show love as I entrust what I cannot control to you. In Jesus' name, amen.
