English
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

English
Romans 12 urges believers to refuse revenge and seek peace as far as possible, entrusting judgment to God. Application must distinguish peace, renewed closeness, and safety. Past harm still affects me, and forgiveness does not require denying what happened. Forgiveness does not erase harm. Bring pain to God and allow healing to take time. Begin with a small concrete response today: Name the harm and choose a trustworthy support person.

Father, Past harm still affects me, and forgiveness does not require denying what happened. Be with me here and help me bring my feelings honestly before you. Forgiveness does not erase harm. Bring pain to God and allow healing to take time. Give me wisdom and courage to respond today: Name the harm and choose a trustworthy support person. While the outcome is uncertain, help me fulfill my responsibilities patiently and receive support from trustworthy people. Let my words and actions show love as I entrust what I cannot control to you. In Jesus' name, amen.
