我朝见耶和华、在至高 神面前跪拜、当献上甚么呢。岂可献一岁的牛犊为燔祭么。 耶和华岂喜悦千千的公羊、或是万万的油河么。我岂可为自己的罪过献我的长子么。为心中的罪恶献我身所生的么。 世人哪、耶和华已指示你何为善。他向你所要的是甚么呢。只要你行公义、好怜悯、存谦卑的心、与你的 神同行。

Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Father, My neighbor rarely goes out and I want to care without intruding. Be with me here and help me bring my feelings honestly before you. Love of neighbor begins with noticing nearby people. Respecting boundaries makes help welcome. Give me wisdom and courage to respond today: Offer a gentle greeting and ask whether practical help is wanted. While the outcome is uncertain, help me fulfill my responsibilities patiently and receive support from trustworthy people. Let my words and actions show love as I entrust what I cannot control to you. In Jesus' name, amen.
