12:9–13 · Romans 12:9–13

English

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Reflecting in daily life · Devotional interpretation

English

Romans 12 connects sincere love, hope, patience, prayer, and hospitality. Perseverance need not mean solitary endurance; mutual care can sustain it as a way of life. Progress feels so slow that I overlook steps already taken. Hope notices small growth without exaggerating outcomes or dismissing real effort. Begin with a small concrete response today: Record one small improvement this week and thank a supporter. Read the passage in its surrounding section. Notice speaker, audience, and context instead of turning Scripture into an instant formula.

Father, Progress feels so slow that I overlook steps already taken. Teach me to listen patiently to your word, seeking understanding before application. In Jesus' name, amen.
