Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Romans 12 connects sincere love, hope, patience, prayer, and hospitality. Perseverance need not mean solitary endurance; mutual care can sustain it as a way of life. I received help and hope to support another person. Receiving grace can awaken generosity. Passing on a blessing need not wait until we have much. Begin with a small concrete response today: Help one person within your capacity.

Father, I received help and hope to support another person. Be with me here and help me bring my feelings honestly before you. Receiving grace can awaken generosity. Passing on a blessing need not wait until we have much. Give me wisdom and courage to respond today: Help one person within your capacity. While the outcome is uncertain, help me fulfill my responsibilities patiently and receive support from trustworthy people. Let my words and actions show love as I entrust what I cannot control to you. In Jesus' name, amen.
