Isaiah 46 contrasts idols with God and emphasizes lasting care for God's people. Reflection on aging and caregiving should remember the passage's focus on continuing faithfulness. Caring for our parents involves more tasks, but we have not discussed who does what. Sustained care requires honest capacity. Shared work includes planning and coordination as well as hours. A small step today: List this week's tasks and each person's capacity, then agree to review. My situation also involves other people. Consider who needs to be heard, who can offer support, and which boundaries deserve respect.
