Isaiah 46 contrasts idols with God and emphasizes lasting care for God's people. Reflection on aging and caregiving should remember the passage's focus on continuing faithfulness. Caring for our parents involves more tasks, but we have not discussed who does what. Sustained care requires honest capacity. Shared work includes planning and coordination as well as hours. A small step today: List this week's tasks and each person's capacity, then agree to review. Review is not a scorecard. Notice small changes, what still needs time, and where another person's company may help. Growth can be slow.
