Psalm 13 moves from cries during prolonged waiting toward trust in God's mercy. Lament and trust belong in the same psalm; grief need not be hidden before praying. My work has ended; I miss not only income but a familiar identity. Losing a role deserves grief too. Lament lets me resist rushing to call the ending a good thing. A small step today: Name three gifts from that work and choose one to carry forward. Prayer does not require a performance of calm. Name gratitude, fear, questions, and hope in turn, and leave room for silence.
