My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3 connects trust and humility with life's path. Wisdom literature shapes a direction for life rather than predicting that any particular choice will succeed. Conflicting advice leaves me unsure what matters to me. Seeking counsel humbly does not hand the decision to the loudest voice. Sort the reasons and distinguish facts from values. A small step today: Sort advice into facts, preferences, and judgments that need checking. My situation also involves other people. Consider who needs to be heard, who can offer support, and which boundaries deserve respect.
