23:1–6 · Psalm 23:1–6

English

A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Reflecting in daily life · Devotional interpretation

English

Psalm 23 portrays care through images of a shepherd and a host without avoiding dark paths. Applying it to health seeks presence and provision, not a guarantee that every illness will heal as expected. My follow-up is approaching, and I worry about understanding the results. Company can be requested on a dark road. Recording what is unclear is a concrete way to care for yourself. A small step today: List three questions and, if helpful, invite someone trusted to accompany you. Feelings deserve acknowledgment, but they are not the whole story. Distinguish what happened, your interpretation, and what remains unknown.

A question to sit with

English

As I reflect on “The day before a follow-up”: What are facts, and what are still my guesses?

One small step today

English

Write facts and guesses in two separate columns.

Prayer response

English

Father, My follow-up is approaching, and I worry about understanding the results. Give me courage to face my feelings and patience to separate facts from assumptions. In Jesus' name, amen.
