A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23 portrays care through images of a shepherd and a host without avoiding dark paths. Applying it to health seeks presence and provision, not a guarantee that every illness will heal as expected. Recovery is slow, and I miss my previous pace. Being cared for does not mean visible progress every day. Respect today's limits rather than measuring them only against the past. A small step today: Plan within your care guidance and note one concern to discuss at follow-up.

Father, Recovery is slow, and I miss my previous pace. Help me see my needs and responsibilities through your word. Being cared for does not mean visible progress every day. Respect today's limits rather than measuring them only against the past. Give me courage to respond: Plan within your care guidance and note one concern to discuss at follow-up. Help me trust where things remain uncertain and receive fitting company. In Jesus' name, amen.
