Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Romans 12 connects sincere love, hope, patience, prayer, and hospitality. Perseverance need not mean solitary endurance; mutual care can sustain it as a way of life. A sustained effort has no visible result yet, and I question its worth. Hope and patience allow review. Perseverance can include company and honest consideration of a change in approach. A small step today: Name one responsibility fulfilled and review the next step with someone trusted. My situation also involves other people. Consider who needs to be heard, who can offer support, and which boundaries deserve respect.
