English
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

English
Romans 12 connects sincere love, hope, patience, prayer, and hospitality. Perseverance need not mean solitary endurance; mutual care can sustain it as a way of life. I can do less than usual today and am tempted to call myself useless. Hope can coexist with limits. Accurate capacity lets patience become a supported way of life rather than solitary endurance. A small step today: Do one small necessary task and ask the appropriate person to share the rest. Read the passage in its surrounding section. Notice speaker, audience, and context instead of turning Scripture into an instant formula.

Father, I can do less than usual today and am tempted to call myself useless. Teach me to listen patiently to your word, seeking understanding before application. In Jesus' name, amen.
