This conversation in Mark concerns the disciples' desire for status. Jesus redefines greatness through service and illustrates the path through his own mission. After the event, most people leave while tables and rubbish remain. Service notices unseen needs. Sharing the work keeps faithfulness from becoming a lasting burden on a few. A small step today: Invite two people to help and suggest a rota before the next event. Prayer does not require a performance of calm. Name gratitude, fear, questions, and hope in turn, and leave room for silence.
