This conversation in Mark concerns the disciples' desire for status. Jesus redefines greatness through service and illustrates the path through his own mission. A new volunteer suggests a different approach, and I fear my experience no longer matters. Jesus' response to status reminds me that service is not about remaining indispensable. Experience can help someone else participate. A small step today: Hear the suggestion fully, then propose one improvement to try together. My situation also involves other people. Consider who needs to be heard, who can offer support, and which boundaries deserve respect.
