Psalm 13 moves from cries during prolonged waiting toward trust in God's mercy. Lament and trust belong in the same psalm; grief need not be hidden before praying. A close friend moves away, leaving familiar weekends unexpectedly empty. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Agree on sustainable contact and make room for one new local connection. Responding to Scripture need not mean a grand decision. One achievable action today may be more honest than a vague promise to change.
