English
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Reflecting in daily life · Devotional interpretation
English
Romans 12 connects sincere love, hope, patience, prayer, and hospitality. Perseverance need not mean solitary endurance; mutual care can sustain it as a way of life. Several setbacks this week make me assume the days ahead must be the same. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Name what happened and what remains unknown, leaving room for tomorrow.

Father, Several setbacks this week make me assume the days ahead must be the same. Help me face these feelings honestly and recognize responsibilities and limits. Help me begin here: Name what happened and what remains unknown, leaving room for tomorrow. Give me patience with unanswered questions and willingness to receive company. In Jesus' name, amen.
