English
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

English
James 1 invites those lacking wisdom to ask God in the context of trials. Wisdom includes responsible action amid difficulty as well as information. After an exam I keep comparing answers and cannot disengage. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Note one improvement for next time, then return to rest and ordinary life. Do not rush to solve the whole situation. Notice your body, surroundings, and inner voice, and bring your present need before God.

Father, After an exam I keep comparing answers and cannot disengage. Help me slow down and see this moment honestly without rushing to a verdict about myself. In Jesus' name, amen.
