A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Psalm 100 invites communal worship with thanksgiving, remembering goodness, mercy, and faithfulness. Daily application makes gratitude an attentive response without ignoring difficulty. Chores distract me during prayer, and I blame myself for wandering attention. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Briefly note the concern and return to one sentence being spoken. Do not rush to solve the whole situation. Notice your body, surroundings, and inner voice, and bring your present need before God.
