A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Psalm 100 invites communal worship with thanksgiving, remembering goodness, mercy, and faithfulness. Daily application makes gratitude an attentive response without ignoring difficulty. I reach a gathering in a rush, seated but mentally still running. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Prepare one departure task earlier and allow a brief quiet moment on arrival. Prayer does not require a performance of calm. Name gratitude, fear, questions, and hope in turn, and leave room for silence.
