A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Someone prays differently from what I know, and I judge too quickly. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Listen for the person's thanks and needs and ask sincerely when appropriate.

Father, Someone prays differently from what I know, and I judge too quickly. Help me face these feelings honestly and recognize responsibilities and limits. Help me begin here: Listen for the person's thanks and needs and ask sincerely when appropriate. Give me patience with unanswered questions and willingness to receive company. In Jesus' name, amen.
