Psalm 23 portrays care through images of a shepherd and a host without avoiding dark paths. Applying it to health seeks presence and provision, not a guarantee that every illness will heal as expected. A new diagnosis frightens me, and I need to understand my clinician's advice before deciding. A diagnosis changes plans but does not define a person's worth. Care needs information and support. Begin with a small concrete response today: Review medication, follow-up, and support needs with your care team. My situation also involves other people. Consider who needs to be heard, who can offer support, and which boundaries deserve respect.
