This conversation in Mark concerns the disciples' desire for status. Jesus redefines greatness through service and illustrates the path through his own mission. An older neighbor receives few visitors, and I want to care with respect. Visiting an older person is more than completing a task. Respect their story and pace. Begin with a small concrete response today: Ask for a suitable visit time and prepare an open question. Prayer does not require a performance of calm. Name gratitude, fear, questions, and hope in turn, and leave room for silence.
