Psalm 13 moves from cries during prolonged waiting toward trust in God's mercy. Lament and trust belong in the same psalm; grief need not be hidden before praying. My work has ended; I miss not only income but a familiar identity. Losing a role deserves grief too. Lament lets me resist rushing to call the ending a good thing. A small step today: Name three gifts from that work and choose one to carry forward. Feelings deserve acknowledgment, but they are not the whole story. Distinguish what happened, your interpretation, and what remains unknown.
