Psalm 13 moves from cries during prolonged waiting toward trust in God's mercy. Lament and trust belong in the same psalm; grief need not be hidden before praying. My work has ended; I miss not only income but a familiar identity. Losing a role deserves grief too. Lament lets me resist rushing to call the ending a good thing. A small step today: Name three gifts from that work and choose one to carry forward. Do not rush to solve the whole situation. Notice your body, surroundings, and inner voice, and bring your present need before God.
