3:1–8 · Proverbs 3:1–8

English

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Reflecting in daily life · Devotional interpretation

English

Proverbs 3 connects trust and humility with life's path. Wisdom literature shapes a direction for life rather than predicting that any particular choice will succeed. Two opportunities have strengths, and I keep waiting for a regret-free answer. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: List responsibilities, known facts, and costs, then set a reasonable decision deadline. Read the passage in its surrounding section. Notice speaker, audience, and context instead of turning Scripture into an instant formula.

Father, Two opportunities have strengths, and I keep waiting for a regret-free answer. Teach me to listen patiently to your word, seeking understanding before application. In Jesus' name, amen.
