This conversation in Mark concerns the disciples' desire for status. Jesus redefines greatness through service and illustrates the path through his own mission. While sharing a service story I nearly reveal details without consent. Begin with what actually happened and distinguish your responsibilities. A faithful response can unfold through honest words and a concrete action. A practice for today: Remove identifying private information and obtain clear consent before sharing. Responding to Scripture need not mean a grand decision. One achievable action today may be more honest than a vague promise to change.
